Program Overview

In a world driven by increasingly vast and complex data, employees are needed to decipher that data quickly and efficiently to help companies make more-informed business decisions and identify new opportunities for competitive advantage.

This program provides students with comprehensive overview of the statistical methods and analytical tools that are utilized in solving business challenges using data. The curriculum blends foundational courses in statistics with advanced applications of data analytics, covering key areas such as data mining, management, visualization, forecasting, modeling, optimization and simulation.

These skills address the growing demand for data-driven decision-making and prepare students for both technical and business challenges in the era of big data. The Data Analytics program is designed to equip students with the technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and practical experience needed to excel in this dynamic field.

Upon graduation, be prepared to:

Program Structure

  • Prerequisite: FIT1040 Spreadsheet Design for Business Solutions (or passing grade on challenge exam)
  • 2-year, 4-semester program with rolling enrollment
  • 3 courses per semester in-person
  • 36-credit program (39 credits if prerequisite course is needed)

  • Students work with tools like Python, R, SQL and Excel to learn how to clean, process and analyze large datasets.
  • You’ll practice statistical modeling to learn advanced statistical techniques and identify patterns, trends and correlations in data.
  • You’ll learn how to communicate data insights through compelling visualizations with tools like Tableau, Power BI and ggplot2 — then translate those insights into actionable business decisions and strategies.
  • You’ll explore predictive modeling and machine learning algorithms to forecast outcomes and optimize processes.
